Imagine H2O Launches Water Innovation Pilot Fund

Imagine H2O is excited to announce the launch of the Water Innovation Pilot Fund, a new Special Purpose Vehicle that provides catalytic funding and technical assistance for pilots to de-risk innovative water and climate solutions faster. The fund’s purpose is to accelerate the uptake of innovation is urgently needed to transform how we monitor, treat and restore our water resources impacted by the climate crisis.

Oceankind, The Coca-Cola Foundation, Enterprise Singapore and ADB are among the founding partners with additional philanthropic supporters to be announced later this year. Imagine H2O, a global nonprofit based in the US and Singapore. It helps communities’ de-risk and adopt innovative water solutions faster.

The Fund will finance up to 40 projects over the next 3 years. The average grant size will be $100,000. In 2023 Imagine H2O supported 17 pilots worldwide, accelerating the path to adoption for a diverse range of solutions addressing different water challenges.

Imagine H2O, provides entrepreneurs with pilot financing using grants/recoverable grants. On-the-ground project design and development support is provided alongside the Fund through a technical assistance facility backed by Imagine H2O’s accelerators.

Ongoing Imagine H2O pilots include: 

  • Groundwater management in India: Developing village-level water security plans using a digital water budgeting tool
  • AI-powered NRW reduction in Indonesia: Reducing water losses while improving utility revenue for two utilities 
  • Water quality monitoring in the Philippines: Enabling real-time visibility into water quality to improve service delivery
  • Safe drinking water in Bangladesh: De-risking water ATMs in partnership with ADB and city corporation
