Royal Enfield is Sustainable Factory of the Year

Frost & Sullivan announced Royal Enfield as the Sustainable Factory of the Year during its 2025 16th edition of Sustainability 4.0 Awards in December 2026. The motorcycle company has emerged as India’s leader in the high-end category. Hindalco Industries Limited, Belagavi Works came in close second. This award recognizes organizations that integrate purpose, people, planet, and partnership into their core business strategies.

Royal Enfield’s sustainability efforts are guided by its REBALANCE vision. It focuses on green operations, circular economy (like recycled materials in their “Conscious Collection”), renewable energy, and social responsibility, integrating eco-friendly practices from manufacturing (zero-waste, water positive) to promoting sustainable tourism and heritage conservation in regions like the Himalayas, aiming for holistic environmental and community development. The Sustainability 4.0 Awards recognizes:

  • Systemic sustainability strategies across both service and manufacturing sectors.
  • Leaders in ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) initiatives shared best practices and future roadmaps.
  • Reinforce the critical role of sustainable innovation in driving long-term business resilience.

Gurpratap S. Boparai is CEO of the Year

Frost & Sullivan Introduction of a new category of awards in 2025 – CEO Of the Year. The first recipient was Gurpratap S. Boparai, CEO of Suzlon Energy Limited. The award was part of the 2025 edition of the India Manufacturing Excellence Awards (IMEA)

Mr. Boparai became the CEO of Manufacturing at Suzlon Energy Limited in July 2024. He focuses on driving operational excellence and digitization in Suzlon’s crucial manufacturing divisions. He has had leadership roles in the automotive and engineering sectors at companies like Mahindra, Skoda, and Fiat

The 2025 edition reaffirmed the importance of aligning business excellence with long-term, sustainable strategies, especially as India’s manufacturing landscape rapidly evolves with digital transformation, supply chain complexity, and environmental considerations.

In its 21st edition, IMEA is India’s earliest assessment-based manufacturing award. The 2025 framework evaluated organizations on manufacturing capability, extended supply chain reliability, and technology adoption, reinforcing Frost & Sullivan’s commitment to holistic operational excellence. The rigorous assessment methodology was applied during the visit to more than 2,000+ manufacturing sites.
